Description:

"Our fresh foundation has an anti-shine core.  Its' ultra-light formula is enriched with powders to instantly absorb excess oil.  Controls shine for a natural-looking, flawless finish.  Our first 2-in-1 foundation stick with anti-shine core goes on effortlessly to reveal flawless, lightweight coverage.  Easy to use and perfect for the on-the-go-touch ups."

Review:

So I have oily-combination skin and love trying out new base makeups that claim to keep me shine free all day especially on the T-zone area.  While I'm not really a foundation "stick" person, I thought I'd give this a go anyway due to the small packaging and easy to travel with/carry around design.

First thing I noticed with this foundation stick is that this has a more creamy texture compared to other stick foundations where they can be harder and definitely requires blending with fingers as body temperature helps to 'melt' the foundation making it easier to blend.  Due to the more creamy texture, I can easily blend with a brush which is the method I prefer!

This foundation stick gives a sheer to light/medium coverage - though I would discourage layering it on to try and create a higher coverage as it will look cakey.  Even though it did initially keep me shine free, it doesn't last as long as other matifying foundations.  This may be due to it's sheerer coverage where less powder is deposited so less powder to absorb the oils.  However, it still did a pretty good job lasting around 3-5 hours depending what sort of day I've had.  This also isn't an extremely long wearing foundation, it starts to fad around the same time it stops keeping my oils away, so definitely requires touching up.

Some positives that I've noticed is that it feels soooo lightweight you can barely feel it on your skin, and even though coverage isn't that high, it does even out my skin tone giving me a natural looking finish.

The 2 layer system seems a bit gimmicky to me and shade selection (6 shades available) leaves a lot to be desired, however, overall, this is a good foundation that I would recommend especially for those that just wants a light foundation to even out skin tone and not require a lot of coverage.  Even though this is an anti-shine foundation, I think it's more suited for the oily/combination skin type than those with really oily skin.

Review: MUA Cosmetics EyeShadow Palettes inc. Undress me too!

YouTube, Twitter & Instagram Username: tinaHL82

MUA: Makeup Academy Eye Shadow Palettes:

Undress Me:
A good combination of nude shimmers & mattes on the top row & darker combinations on the second row making it easy to transform a look from day to night.

Undress Me Too:
The pearlescent flesh-toned finish of Shades Naked, Devotion and Shy are perfect for highlighting the eyes, while the shimmering bronze hues of Shades Fiery, Lavish and Dreamy give a sultry effect. There are even smouldering contour tones in Shades Tranquil, Exposed and Wink so that you can transform your minimalist day look into a sexy smokey eye in an instant.  Features a shade range that runs from the palest champagne to the grittiest gunmetal grey.

Starry Night:
Starry Night is a blend of shimmering blues, greys and pinks which are great for bolder looks.

Review:  These shadows are really really good for the price you pay.  While they are not the softest of shadows (though soft enough), they are still all highly pigmented & super blendable.  Each palettes has so many shadow combinations to try, with 9.6g of each shadow, they really are value for money.

Two negative points I should mention, though not really a problem, is firstly there are fall out from the shadow.  However, I have high end shadows that does alot worse so......  The second is the plastic packaging looks & feels really cheap, but that doesn't really affect the product, and shows that the £4.00 you're spending went mainly to the shadows themselves.

Each palette also comes with a double ended sponge applicator.  I personally haven't used these but could be great in emergencies when you haven't got your makeup brushes with you?

All in all, you can't really go wrong with these shadows as they're hardly going to break the bank balance.  I've also heard the Undress Me Too is a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 2 Palette.  I don't own the Naked 2, but from what I can see, they are pretty similar so definitely a bargin if your budget doesn't stretch that far!

Review: Maybelline Fit Me Liquid Foundation

Maybelline Fit Me Liquid Foundation:

http://www.boots.com/en/Maybelline-Fit-Me-Foundation_1279214/

• No oils, no waxes, no nonsense
• Natural coverage that leaves skin the way it was meant to be…fresh, breathing, natural
• Exclusive translucent base and lightweight pigments allow skin's natural highs and lows to show through
• Non-comedogenic, dermatologist-tested

To summarise what I reviewed in the video, this foundation gives a light to light/medium coverage, feels light weight and gives a smooth slightly powdered finish.  It went on really well using a kabuki brush leaving no streaks, did not separate, move, or disappear on my combination/oily skin throughout the day either.  It also lasted a good full day, say from 7am til about 7pm, so staying power is pretty good.  However, I do use primer & powder when using this foundation, as it transfers really easily, so you need to be cautious when using this foundation.  If you are one of those that touches your face throughout the day etc, I definitely do not recommend this foundation.  Another thing to note is it did oxidise throughout the day, and though it didn't affect me much as I'm sort of between two shades anyway, those with paler skin may want to buy the next shade down.

People I do not recommend this to are those with dry skin as the powdery finish can emphasise any dry areas, & definitely not for those with really oily skin as I guess the transfer will only be worse with really oily skin!

The bottle comes with a pump which is nice, however, the pump does release quite a fair amount in one pump so just use one pump first and if you need more then go for another.  The foundation comes out quite watery, however, it does provide the stated coverage when applied.

Overall, I've used this foundation for over a month now & still grab for it once in a while.  I like the finish it gives me, and I learnt not to touch my face whenever I have foundation on which is another added bonus I guess.  The shade fits me well - I bought 220 (I'm an NC25-27) and like I said, it lasts all day.  It's also the only drug-store liquid foundation that hasn't broken me out, so I'm impressed with that as well.  While it's not the best foundation out there, for the price, packaging and formula, I consider it pretty good!

Comes in around 12 shades (from Boots) & caters for both pink and yellow undertones.

Review: Collection 2000 Fix Me Up & Primed and Ready

First of all, Primed & Ready:

To put it bluntly, I'm not a big fan of this Primer.  Firstly, this primer really broke me out.  Yes, I do have sensitive skin, however, I have also used many silicon based primer and have never had such a reaction before.  For this reason, I have only used it around 3 times.  From those times, I found that it didn't reduce the appearance of my pores, nor blurred them out, and it didn't control my oils at all.  It does give a smoothe canvas for when you first apply your foundation, however, it didn't help my makeup stay put for very long.  I usually do love Collection 2000 products, but this primer was a bit of a let down.  I definately do not reccommend this for anyone with sensitive or oily skin.

What Collection 2000 says about this Primer:

Collection Primed & Ready Smoothing Make up Primer preps the skin, providing a beautiful base for easier make-up application and ensures your make-up remains intact throughout the day.

The silky formula of the COLLECTION Primed & Ready Smoothing Make-up Primer glides onto skin, providing a light coverage for a flawless complexion, and a noticeably natural finish.

Preened perfection is just one step away with the COLLECTION Smoothing Make-up Primer, as it seeks to minimize problem pores, smooth uneven skin and hide unsightly blemishes.

This multi-tasking primer makes make-up application effortless and keeps your complexion smooth and flawless all day. Whether you’re blending foundation, securing sumptuous lips, experimenting with eye colours or going bold with blusher, you can be confident that your canvas will remain crystal clear.

Next, the 'Fix me up' makeup fixer:

Now, I am definately impressed with this makeup fixer.  As instructed, I used 4 spritz after applying foundation and powder, waited for it to dry then did the rest of my makeup.  This made my makeup stay on for a full day (about 15 hrs) without the need to reapply.  Its didn't stop my oil from coming through, however, after blotting out with blotting sheets, my base makeup looked as fresh as when I first applied it.  Yes, it is a small bottle, but as I don't reccommend anyone using an alcohol base makeup fixer everyday (only as occasion requires), it does last me quite a while, and I do believe it works just as well as the skindinavia makeup fixers.

What Collection 2000 says about this makeup fixer:

From the minute you’re made-up to the moment you dress down, you can remain the marvel of freshly applied foundation.

Duration is guaranteed from dusk ‘til dawn, without a worry of washing off, fading down or patching up.Any glam-girl-on-the-go knows how tedious touching-up and re-applying make-up can be, but now this non-stick, weightless make-up setter offers any budding beauty a ‘barely there’ sheen for the ultimate in luminous finishes.
No matter how stressful your day, this beauty BFF will be on-side to stay-away any un-wanted imperfections, giving a long-lasting flawless finish.

Both products cost around 5.99GBP each.
